Liner inserts enhance the absorbency of Pads and Lunapanties to meet your particular needs, and will last approximately as long per use as a comparably sized disposable pad or tampon. A single Pad will last you through a full day of your cycle, provided that the Liner Insert is changed before soaking through. Unlike Pantyliners, Liner Inserts must be used in conjunction with a Pad or Lunapanty.
How many Liners do I need?
You can expect to use 1 Pad or Lunapanty per day, changing your Liner Inserts 1-6 times depending on how light or heavy your periods are. When your Liner Insert becomes saturated, replace with a fresh, dry liner. Multiple Liners may be added (up to 4 at a time for very heavy flows) to help prevent leaks or extend the time between Liner changes.
Heavy Wing Liners are approx. 14” (35 cm) long and 2.5” (6 cm) wide across the wings.
Liner Inserts are made from 2 layers of 100% cotton fleece with serged edges.
Liners enhance the absorbency of Lunapads and Lunapanties to meet your particular needs. Each Liner will last approximately as long (per use) as comparably sized disposable pads or tampon. Additional mindfulness may be advisable, however, as Lunapads are made with natural, more porous fibers and do not contain added chemicals or absorbing agents. Given this, Lunapads users need to be mindful of changing the Liner Insert as frequently as their flow dictates in order to prevent soaking through the Pad. Frequent changing of the Liners significantly enhances the comfort and performance of the Pad.
Wash & Care
Liners can be washed by hand or machine in any temperature with your regular detergent. Pre-soaking or rinsing in cold water prior to washing is recommended, but not always necessary, particularly if the pads are heavily saturated. Please note that if pads are being soaked, soaking water must be changed daily.
Lunapads recommends Nellie’s Natural Laundry Soda for regular cleaning, and Buncha Farmers Stain Remover to perk up any stained pads. Heavily stained liners may also occasionally benefit from machine wash & dry in hot settings.
Please avoid the use of chlorine bleach or fabric softeners to clean liners.
How to Use
Liners can be added as desired by inserting the ends under the ric-rac bands on a Pad. Wing Liners rest comfortably against the inner thigh, providing added lateral (side to side) protection. Multiple Liner Inserts may be inserted for increased absorbency. Pads can be refreshed throughout the day or night as desired by removing and replacing the Liners. Please note that Liner Inserts are not intended to be worn without a Pad.
Please note that Organic Cotton is only available in Magenta. Regular Cotton pads are available in all other colours in quantities indicated above.
